October is "Women in Small Business Month." A new survey shows the growth of small businesses owned by women is on the rise.
Entrepreneur and marketing expert Porter Gale says entrepreneurial women are exploring opportunities that allow them to go after a process and life where they really enjoy what they're doing in terms of work and passion. Gale says online businesses, in particular are booming, and that many women are also turning to online resources to help them get their businesses started.
The Cox "Rise of the Woman Entrepreneur Survey" says the number of businesses owned by women has grown by more than 59 percent over the last 15 years and the trend is expected to keep growing.
